Oakington Methodist Chapel has been at the heart of the village for more than a hundred years and is still a hive of activity.

A Service of Worship is held once a month on a Sunday afternoon and three times a year the Chapel fills up for seasonal “Songs of Praise” evenings. There are many Christians in Oakington,some of whom worship outside the village, but twice a month they come together for ecumenical fellowship. On Sunday mornings a House Church also meets in our premises.

During the week we provide a drop-in meeting-place,the Monday Café, in our Community Room and the rest of the week it is in use for many activities,including local elections. Many interests and hobbies are catered for, including a Woodwind Band, Gardening Club, Womens` Group, Rhyme Time for toddlers and the Local History Club as well as some groups from outside our community who use it for meetings.

We are proud to be able to offer this service to our neighbours and we know that it is appreciated. We never forget that Jesus himself told us that what we do for others, in love, we are also doing for Him. At a time when so many people are isolated and lonely it is even more important to keep our doors and hearts open for everyone who needs us and we hope to maintain a Methodist presence here for many years to come.
